- Is your article about interaction between different cultures? Is that a part of what is happening in your news story?
- How does the interaction you see in your news story compare to the interaction we studied in this unit?
- What systems are in place to facilitate this cultural interaction (think about technology, transportation, international organization, etc.)?
- Does geography have anything to do with it?

Cultural Exchange
Perspective
- Would your news story be dramatically different if told by someone from another country or culture?
- Does the author's cultural or geographic distance limit or affect the way the story is told?
- Can you see a dramatic difference between the author's point of view and your own?
- Does the perspective of your author remind you of anything from the unit?
- Is your author aware of different perspectives, or do they seem to speak primarily from their own?
Ethnocentrism
- Do your news stories reflect the publisher or author's focus on his / her own culture?
- Does the story involve international events that are told from the perspective of one group?
- Are other sides of the story underrepresented?
- Do you see any issues that contribute to the ethnocentrism of your article or the people written about?
- If the article is published on the internet, how do you think that affects the role of ethnocentrism in the story?
